stevefoster
Is 154lbft and some the same as 96 + 40 deg then? I have only ever done what they say in the manual with a degree gauge. Peter T
I do not know? i was quoted 169lbft and 40deg, as my socket broke i have not been able to check yet. On The Starting Blocks!
16vastra
hmm, you grease the thread up and then do 184ftlb (250nm) and then another 40 to 50 degrees ie ****ing tight and thats more torque than my engines got ☹️
kenny.
I can vouch for that....when I put steel oil pump gear in my HPC I had three mates dangling off a very long pipe attatched to 2 more very long pipes and the bastard only moved when I enlisted a prospective SV owner to swing on it as well . stevefoster
My Manual clearly says 96 lbft and then 40-50 deg. You can overtighten things... My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Alex Wong1697456877
Mine says 184 lb/ft then 40-50 degrees more.
Peter T
Well Alex, it looks like the majority conclude that your torque figure is correct. I still have to buy another socket as the shopkeeper says that i broke it ( too much torque) Where can i buy a good quality socket that will not break? Steve, do you have one i can borrow? stevefoster
I have some 6 sided impact sockets that would probably do it. I will check sizes. I have a range up to 22mm I think My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep.
