Morls
What wrong with ditch pumps 🤔 🤔 Graham Hill raced (and won) in a Lotus seven with a Coventry Climax one in And Paul... If you want a flexible (I shan't use 'Torquey' in case PC corrects my use of the term ), reliable, cheap, non-japanese Bike motor,... How about the Triumph 1200 4Cyl or 955i triple. They may be a little tall for a Caterham but should happily fit into many of the other Lotus 7 inspired things. Mark My Caterham Silver Jubilee No. 7 is here with Mavis, under 'Mark's Cars'. YW Sin
Paul, I would love to see a V-2 H-D engine in a Caterham. You should do it and make 7community a more colorfull place to be. Could be a good laugh, and who knows? It might work surprisingly well. Personally, my choice will be, a flat-Six engine from Honda Gold wing whether it is Jap or not. Too smooth? Why the vibe when you can live without it? On top of that, with this engine you know you can dash across the US continent a few times without a fiddle just like Forest Gump 😬 A ll standard, Classic 1.7 X-flow Edited by - yw sin on 22 Apr 2003 09:25:
dino ferrana
How about... No seriously how about the new Radical engine with two Hayabusa engines in a V with a common crank. Produces about 350 bhp and lots of torque. Entire drive train reckoned to weigh 136 KG for a Radical!!!!!
arthur rayner
Just came across this post. I have a half mated HD 1340 Evo engine to a Moto Guzzi gearbox, must get back to it all very soon, ideally for one of my 3 wheelers, but could sound good in a Caterham....perhaps....perhaps not!Arthur
