SM25T
Just Google for a local auto electrical service workshop. Plenty around. Nothing special about parts for a Caterham.
CycleSi
I don't know which specific make it is, but it is in my R500K. I am based in South Bucks. I tried Google but they seem to be a dying breed hence my request for a recommendation - I can post it so the distance doesn't really matter. CycleSi
That's the sort of place I'm looking for - old fashioned, knowledgeable, stuff everywhere, etc. Thanks for the heads up.
Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted May 24 Leadership Team Share Posted May 24 If you’re in South Bucks, I strongly recommend Burghfield Alternators near Reading 👍

ScottR400D
I read quite a lot about failing alternators on 7s. Is there something about the 7 that leads them to be problematic? I have never, over decades and more cars than I can remember ever had one fail. Yet.
SM25T
Potentially high engine revs and under bonnet temperatures from exhaust primaries. Having said that, I have just replaced mine after 106,000 miles Edited May 30 by SM25T
