Gearbox wiring question - 420R build

Hi, I'm having a problem connecting the wires in the transmission tunnel to the gearbox.
  • The loom has two wires - Green and Green/Yellow - male spades.
  • The gearbox, close to the gear-lever, has two blue wires - male spades.
  • The gearbox also has two blue wires, close to the engine - female spades.

Am I correct in assuming it has to be male to female, if so, does it matter that all the wires coming out of the gearbox are blue, yet the wires from the loom are two different colours ?

Confused.

Cut off the blue wires nearest the gear lever, connect the green wires to the black connector ones nearest the engine. As I recall there was some faffing about with the connectors to make this work.

During my build, the Caterham engineers shared the following on this topic:

The blue ones are not used, so these can be cut off to make it a bit tidier. The green then go to the black ones for your reverse lights.

Confused.

Please can you check. Do you have 2 x two blues, or 1 x two blues and 1 x two blacks?

Thanks

Coming out of the gearbox they are all BLUE.

However, the ones closest to the engine are shrouded in a black sheath protector, making them seem black.

But on close inspection the actual wires protruding from the protector are in fact BLUE.  You can just see them if you poke your head under the dash.
