Hi I’m after some help on wiring diagrams please, have a duratec 2.0. Currently fitted with a race loom. But want to covert to road use, I have 2 looms for the duratec engine with a stack dash. But unsure exactly what I have etc. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ant. IMG_5661.thumb.jpeg.6f13515a4a0cacb78ca5d4a1297cc265.jpeg

What year is your car?

The snag with the generally available diagrams (typically from the text-based Assembly Guides) is that they are becoming increasingly out of date. The latest ones I'm aware of are dated February 2015.

You could well be in luck, however,  as your ECU is labelled "992", which I think was discontinued around 2010.

Doesn't time fly?

How do the official service centres manage?

And if anyone does have anything later... please could they send copies to John and me so that we can share them with other Members.

Thanks

Good question.  I would guess that CC Engineering pass on the same diagrams that their loom-makers use.

About two years ago, I asked Darren in Parts if he could let me have any diagrams later than Feb 2015.  His reply said that Engineering were very reluctant to release these (even though earlier ones were freely available in the text-based Assembly Guides).  Eventually, they agreed to send me just the diagrams relating to my own car, which of course I already had in my copy of the AG!

If the OP needs something later than Feb 2015, I think his best bet would be to ask CC, quoting his VIN.

My understanding is that the Duratec engine loom was the same for all MBE 992 cars, and included a connector for Stack oil pressure.

@Ant m:  Can you tell us the year of your car, the ECU type (992 or 9A4) and the provenance of the two extra engine looms you have?

The 992 was fitted to my 2012 car, John, I think the switch-over to 9A4 was closer to the R400 becoming a 420R.

@Jonathan Kay, you’re always very helpful and prompt in providing this sort of info but, as @Golf Juliet Tango suggests, is there not some central depository on this site where these diagrams (and Assembly Guides) could be stored for more universal access?

Thanks.

I'm talking about this with the Leadership Team again. It isn't as simple as it looks but I hope that we can make progress.

Thanks for the additional feedback, so the car is an old palmer car, originally k series and converted to duratec on LPG, had a cosworth ecu etc. I have started restoring this and converting back to fuel.
I was provided some std caterham looms but with no info unfortunately and these had the original ECU connection, I have been sourcing the original sub looms etc bit by bit, I found the R300 ECU online and have been buying parts to return this to STD. I should be able to get this ECU unlocked when needed but I want something plug and play to get me started as I have enough work to do as it is. Off to the Fab shop tomorrow for some repairs etc… the bags for the looms had the following numbers but that’s it: 37LO49C - 37LO50B.
not sure what these mean, hopefully someone on here does??

They are the Caterham part numbers:

Blimey O'Reilly!  I didn't realise we were discussing a full resto project.  That's quite a challenge.  Best of luck.

Re unlocking the R300 ECU, this will be encrypted rather than just password-protected so is likely to need either SBD (the supplier) or a specialist like Steve Greenald to gain access.

Unless you have them already, your extra R300D looms may require additional injector and coil sub-looms.   If so, rather than using the standard coil loom (30L134A), I'd suggest opting for the flexi-loom (3AL080A), which is much more durable and solves the well-known problem of wiring fractures (especially on cyl #1).

I'd also suggest the TPS Race Loom (30L117A) for the same reason.

Thanks for this, I have now sourced, coil, injector, fuel tank and alternator sub loom. Luckily have helP from a competent sparky but trying to make it as easy as possible. Yeah it’s quite a lot of work, the mechanicals don’t both me too much. Just need to knuckle down. 😳
