graearea
Does anyone have one of these or have an experience of using one? I find that the 260 mil is quite tricky to catch when the car starts sliding as my hands in gloves tend to get all a bit tangled up with each other. I suspect the 300 mil wheel is actually just too big.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted December 13, 2023 Member Share Posted December 13, 2023 1800 K road and occasional track. Medium hands in thin gloves. My original build used a Mountney 300mm. I changed that for a MOMO 260mm. It's just right, apart from slightly obscuring the dials. Jonathan
Benton
I use a 290mm Momo. Prefer the size plus it doesn’t obscure the instruments as much.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted December 13, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted December 13, 2023 OP, it sounds like you need a quicker steering rack. With a 260mm wheel and spirited driving your hands rarely move from the quarter to three position on the wheel.
graearea
I don't currently have 800quid to spend on a quick rack 😞 it's only really when the car is sliding a lot that I struggle to get my hands round quickly enough. I did the drift champ thing with caterham and the cars had bigger wheels.
K7 VCT
I've had a 280mm momo on all my 3 sevens , the perfect option I think .
Wrightpayne
Another vote for the larger wheel. Until I sorted the bump steer out my wrists used to get jarred with a 260, which I fitted due to knee/wheel clearance, which a lowered floor fixed! Iike Stu I dont really take my hands from a set position, not that I need to apply a bit of ‘oppo’ that often!
graearea
I see some Suede ones around but I'd imagine suede is not very nice if it gets wet

graearea
It was Ian Payne the P in PT sports cars. unfortunately he couldn't find it when he looked. and the wheel I bought was a 270, not 280 so that is going back (my mistake) so I'm still on the lookout for a 280/290mm wheel.
