Bypassing ign switch to wire in switch and starter button

R500 CYA

Recommended Posts

I am not using a conventional barrel ignition key, but have instead opted for a aircraft switch and starter button.

Can someone confirm that I can feed the two white wires and two brown wires to the flip switch, then take a feed from one brown and the red and white to the starter button.

In other words ign flip is from 15 and 30, and starter button is from 50 and 30.

Am I missing something?

Cheers,

Nick

The brown wires go to one side of the flip switch and the white wires go to the other side.

You have a choice of taking a feed to the start switch either from the brown or the white wire. I would recommend you take it from the white wire otherwise someone could accidently start the car without the ignition switch being deliberately switched on. (Although the fuel pump won't run anyway with the ignition off). But the car would still jump forward if it were in gear, so it's safer the way I suggested.

The red/white wire goes to the other side of the starter button.
