Richard_Perrett
I am wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to get RaceChrono to work with a OBDLinkLX Bluetooth OBD2 device?i have seen some Youtube video of a Duratec with RPM and Throttle displayed so I'm assuming it's possible somehow.I can't get it to connect to the ECU so far, the bluetooth is fine. aerobod - near CYYC
Hi Richard,The MBE ECU only has CANBus messages, as opposed to a full OBD2 message set. The standard locked Caterham software version likely won't allow any CANBus message modification, but the info here may indicate how you can configure RaceChrono to work with the messages configured by default: https://www.sbdmotorsport.co.uk/wp/wp/pdf/Setup_Out_Going_MBE_ECU_CAN_Data_Stream.pdf It looks as though RaceChrono can support CANBus messages directly, as opposed to only OBD2 messages over CANBus: https://racechrono.com/article/faq/how-do-i-log-can-bus-messagesYou will need an MBE 985 cable and Easimap to look at the ECU config: https://sbdmotorsport.co.uk/product/mbe-map-kit-3-can-basic-can-mapping-kit-for-mbe-can-based-ecus/In terms of the messages available, here is an older list (unfortunately doesn't show the matching PIDs): https://www.aimtechnologies.com/support/racingecu/MBE_9A4CAN_101_eng.pdfJohn's Blog is probably the best source of PID info: https://purplemeanie.co.uk/index.php/2019/09/20/ecu-diagnostics-part-13-2-obd-ii/There is also some info from Mark & John in this thread that could help: https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/comment/2298415
Richard_Perrett
Thanks James,I had read John's blog and understood that the MBE broadcast protocol broadcast by default without doing anything in EasyMap to set it up, but I'll look into that now as I already have a cable.
