TexasDreamer
I"m going to replace the front and rear radius arm bushings (7 and 8 in the image) this weekend. Anything I need to know? I am naively thinking that all I have to do is raise the car and remove the bolts to get the radius arms off. Do I need to worry about the springs blowing up in my face when I take the first bolt off? How about getting the holes lined up when I put it back together? Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted June 30, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted June 30, 2023 If the front of the arm is mounted in the lower of the two optional positions I recall you need to remove the seat to gain access to the fixing, but fundamentally, yes. Get the car onto stands (supporting the chassis not the dedion tube) and with the wheel removed the radius arm can be removed without issue. Do one side fully at a time and support the dedion tube at the end with a trolley jack so that you can manoeuvre it a little if needed. The bigger job is getting the old bushes out ....Stu. 7 wonders of the world
consider replacing them with Powerflex bushes
TexasDreamer
Thanks for the info. Only one hole(position), as far as I can see. It's just barely reachable with the seats all the way back. I have the PowerFlex bushings in hand.
