The Shermanator.
Hi, does the Silencer bracket sit on top of the Bobbin or hang from the bottom of it?It's a k series side exit. Has the L shape bracket bolted to chassis rail. Silencer has a small bracket welded to the end pipe. I can't remember if this sits on top or bottom of the Rubber Bobbin.. Nigel Riches
Rubber bobbins are generally used in compression, as in this situation, not to good in shear or tension.

7 wonders of the world
with a little reworking of the brackets you can loose the bobbin and rub a bolt thro using neoprene washers in between the brackets about 6 and then 3 under the bot head washer and another 3 under the lock nut washer, lightly tightened this give proper isoloation with 100% security - as when a bobbin fails the silencer is flailing..
