magister
Bec has been looking at the Ladies results for Curborough and has noticed that the Ladies scores on the detailed XL spreadsheet (the data used to determine the the awards on the day) do not agree with the ones on the PDF results sheet. The scores on the detailed spreadsheet appear to have been calculated against the class record whereas the scores on the PDF have been (correctly) calculated against the class winners time. This would give Julia the Ladies prize for Curborough. Simon.Rogers
There are a few other errors also - not important at this time. Take a look at the overall Championship scores. No records broken yet some have +400% - thats not possible for the overall. My Class total is shown as 0 not the 100% it should be.None of that is urgent but if you are taking a look at other things ..... Comp Scorer
@Simon Apologies, I didn't intend to publish the final column with championship scores as there are quite a few things that I need to tidy up. The class and other scores are correct, or at least I've spent time checking and cleaning any mistakes I;ve found - the championship ones can't be trusted just yet. I will get that sorted for the next round. @magister It's an interesting one and a few different things there. First the on the day award - the on the day award is for the 'fastest lady', and can be different from the scoring for the ladies championship. The regs for the Curborough 8 event don't specify the way that the on the day award is calculated, and I just used the spreadsheet from last year. However, depending on the method you could make an argument for each of the three to have won the award - Debbie had the fastest actual time, Julia had the highest score against the time on the day, and Rebecca had the highest score against the record (which as you say is the way the spreadsheet was set up to calculate it). In order to clear this up I'm going to contact the ladies competing in the championship and see what they think should be the approach to calculating the award for the future. The reason the PDF is different is that its generated by the master championship spreadsheet, with the raw times copied from the on-the-day one. The master speadsheet format is great for the championship, but doesn't work when displayed on a monitor on the paddock office, or help the guys typing in the scores. Simon.Rogers
It was always intended when I designed the percentage method that it would be based on %age against the class winner on the day.Too many variables to be against records. That was how the Novice should be calculated also.
