OldAndrewE
Not seven related but I have just bought some new tyres for my Mini (Yokohama A032). All tyres have both yellow and red dots. On two of them the dots are opposite each other and on the other two they are about 45 degrees apart. The wheels are MB racing split rims. How should I align the dots relative to the valve? 7 wonders of the world
Yellow dot is the lightest point and should be inline with the valve - makes for slightly easier balancing and acts a a good reference to see if the tyres are moving on the rims too. SM25T
Yellow dot next to the valve. But if there is also a red dot, that takes priority and goes next to the valve. Google it. https://www.tyrebaydirect.com/knowledge-base/tyres-explained-red-dot-vs-yellow-dot/
jbcollier
Tire markings like this are an aid but do not always represent the best placement when the rim is taken into account. If you can find a shop with road force balancing, they will test the rim and then the rim/tire combined. The machine will then come up with the best tire/rim orientation based on how the tire is interacting with the road.
7 wonders of the world
I think red dot only take priority if theres a corresponding sticker/dimple on the rim to line it too... if not ignore and use the yellow to valve..?
