BigCol
Having rearranged my engine bay (who'd've thought that was an option?), I have two spare storage tubes from an ancient Bulk Buy arranged by Dr Kay. As per the second photo, please note that whilst the rear mounts have been trimmed, there's still enough to secure them. Front mounts are unaltered.£20 the pair, inc the "inner". Collection from London W4 or £5 P&P.
TANGO7
Hi,Can you please tell me the dimensions of the tubes. Presumably they are plastic?Ian

BigCol
TANGO9, yes - plastic. Robust and suitable for mounting under the bonnet, so heat-tolerant.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted April 15, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted April 15, 2023 There was a thread I started years ago when I first fitted one of these but I can't find it, maybe JK can do better than me? It was following this thread that Jonathan organised the bulk buy. They're originally John Deere canisters which keep the manual safe on big tractors so very tough. Mine's fitted where a K-Series Apollo tank would sit (my car's dry sumped so no Apollo) and can take spare oil or tools or even some of both. An aluminium "Sigg" bottle is a perfect fit in the canister to carry spare oil.Stu.
BigCol
I tried to find that thread too!Dontcha love BlatChat's search facilities? (not that Google or DuckDuckGo were much better!)
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 15, 2023 Member Share Posted April 15, 2023 I'm wary of diverting For Sale threads. I'll pick this up elsewhere.Jonathan
