gm44
I've now swapped over from ZZS to Toyos and am out at Snetterton on Monday with LoT. Does anyone know what pressures to run them at on track? I've been typically going for 18 cold and 22 hot on the ZZS.Thanks Gerard

Nigel Blandin
I run mine at those pressures, including at Snetterton and they are fine like that.

gm44
Thank you both,I remembered this morning that there is a race series based on the Toyos with McMillan as one of the sponsors, so I spoke to them. They said for track useCold - 21 front, 20 rearHot - 25 front, 24 rear. They also said that if your car has been setup for Avons you will need the car flat floored. They charge £140+vat which seems very reasonable so I'm getting it done next week.In the meantime I'll play around and see what feels right with the current setup. One other point worth mentioning if you make the switch, is that it's worth checking tyre clearance on the front with the mudguard stays as one of my tyres was rubbing slightly, so I've had to bend back the stay. It was never a problem with the Avons.Regards Gerard
Area Representative DerekH Posted March 24, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted March 24, 2023 Gerard, What was your stay bending technique? I'm fitting Toyo's on Tuesday. My worn out ZZS's have only 5mm of clearance. RegardsDerekH
gm44
The garage that fitted them lent me a big crowbar and I just stuck the end of it against the sidewall. I'm not sure that Mr Toyo would have approved, but it did the trick.
Nigel Blandin
#5, 15 hot on the rear Guy? Wow! That is low. does it not lean on the sidewalls and feel loose?
Area Representative DerekH Posted March 25, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted March 25, 2023 Thanks,I've given mine a tweak with the crowbar and have gained a few more millimeters before the change over. They don't move very easilyDerekH

gm44
I went to McMillan yesterday. For the wet they go much higher; 35 psi cold front and rear, remove the front roll bar and disconnect a drop link. For what it's worth I couldn't tell much difference between the Avons and the Toyos other than I was getting more turn in oversteer. My droplinks were as far forward as possible, but McMillan have moved them back.
