JP
As I reassemble the car I thought it might be wise the change the rear gbox seal and the diff output seals. There's no leaking, but I guess it is an easy job to do now while the diff and gbox are out of the car...or is it?There's nothing in my Caterham manuals (assembly and owner's) about how to change these. Are they a simple job? Could someone point me the direction of a guide please? (I have the old "tin can" driveshafts rather than tripoid - if that makes a difference.) jbcollier
If they are dry right now, I would not "fix" them. If they have been weeping, then I would.
JP
They are dry. I guess it's a case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it then...
Iamscotticus
You have either a Live Axle or a DeDion. If your Cat is as supplied from Cat, the engine year and model is helpful.
JP
Whoops. It is a 1999 1.6K-series supersport. De Dion. Unmodified drive train: 5spd box and std diff.
