W33SVN
Hi folks,Yesterday I changed the oil in my Ford diff on my 2007 Sigma Supersport. My owners manual states 1.2l but I know Caterham have now stated 0.8l. However, is that just for the BMW diff or both? I should have measured the amount I removed, but just assumed 0.8l and refilled that amount. Whilst doing this, I took a photo through the fill / drain hole to try and establish what LSD I had fitted. After reading posts on here, I expected to see the main body of the LSD with the holes, but was met by, what looks to me to be the base plate of the crown wheel? I wasn't expecting this as I thought this part of the diff was located in the nearside of the diff (fill / drain hole in offside of diff housing). I've attached a photo of my view. Any thoughts please? I'm a newbie, please be kind
Amos91
You just fill it up until it starts coming back out the filler plug. Whether that be 0.8, 0.9 etc. I'm sure 1l is more than enough. Only way to tell on the LSD is to remove a driveshaft and look through to see the shape inside. http://www.mycaterham.com/66828/117416.html
W33SVN
Brilliant, thank you. I found a receipt for a diff refurb from R&RT so contacted them to enquire as to the type of LSD, they very kindly got back confirming it's a ZF unit.
