BigCol
Anyone know what torque the two bolts that hold the two halves of standard rear calipers together should be tightened to?This one (and, contrary to the picture, a second one!)

John Vine
My Assembly Guide says 20Nm:(They probably mean "bolts".)JV
BigCol
Have found the same reference in my Assembly Guide in an appendix at the back - silly me, was looking at the bit referring to fitting the rear brakes! It too says 20Nm (and refers to a figure of the IVA mirror )
KnifeySpoony
Calls for bIue loctite too.

John Vine
It's a while since I bought rear pads. Do they still come with new bolts for the caliper bracket? If so, do the bolts still have threadlock patches (they used to be blue or orange, IIRC)?JV
StevehS3
The last two sets I have bought came with 2 new bolts (not 4 - am I unlucky or what is that about?). They did have threadlock patches.
John Vine
#8 That's interesting. According to my notes, my last set (30B013A) was the same -- two bolts only:I ended up using one and threadlocking the other.I've just asked Darren in Parts whether there should be four bolts in the set. I'll post up his reply.JV
John Vine
#9: Just had a lighting-fast reply:Hi John, Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, they do come with new bolts and yes, only 2 which I have always found strange. I would say though the bolts you take out are perfectly reusable, just put a small amount of loctite on them.
