TomB
I’m looking through my service history, and see the rear flexible brake hoses were last replaced in April 2009,approx 21500 miles ago. The fronts were done when I swopped to widetrack in Winter 2014/15, only around 8000 miles ago. The metal sleeve is visibly OK from the outside. I’m sure tintop flexible pipes are not replaced at 24000 as my service schedule suggests. Whats the collective wisdom on replacement intervals on these? Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted January 8, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted January 8, 2023 Caterham Service Schedule quotes every four years. This tight schedule is probably for cars that amass high miles (max 48,000 at four year point) or undertake lots of track driving/racing.Most Sevens being low mileage cars I would suggest adopting the principal of on condition on an annual basis. Look for heavy corrosion on end fittings, fraying of the braid or it pulling out of an end fitting. Of course leakage would promote a replacement. Adopted the on condition principal through three cars/29 years & never a problem.
