Ralph
Just a quick question.Re working a Track car for road use (Preparing for IVA)Stirling immobiliser fitted but as it was used on the track I just have the fob and the aerial wires taped under the dash (Not connected to any Red light ).To start the car you just wave the fob around the Aerial My questions are 1. Is an Immobiliser part of the IVA ?2. If so would it pass as it Is ?Any Help appreciated

simon_h
This is what the iva manual says. You need some sort of immobilisation device as well as the key.
John Vine
(Linky to the IVA Manual (April 2022) for M1 vehicles). It appears that, provided you have (say) a steering lock, you don't need an electronic immobiliser, but if one is fitted, it has to "be operational". However, it's not clear whether "operational" includes a working tell-tale (red light). I guess an email or call to DVSA might elicit the answer.JV
