John Cockburn
Hoping someone will know the answer? I have a Caterham Sigma 150 2008 which has covered 38,000 miles with very few issues. Recently I am experiencing what seems like a lack of fuel (engine hesitant but then clears), speaking to other club members they suggested change the fuel filter, I cannot see one under the car or on the bulkhead so assume mine will be fitted in the tank, can anyone please confirm this and if so has anyone changed one? Thank you John
John Vine
Assuming your pump is similar to the one in my 2008 Duratec, the filter is integrated into the bottom of the pump. There's nothing to change as such, but to clean it out, you'd need to remove the pump unit. When I removed my pump a couple of years ago, the filter was clean, so it could be your symptoms indicate some other problem. One that immediately springs to mind is a faulty lambda sensor.
