Terry Field
Is there a recommended depth of brake lining at which point the pads / shoes should be changed - 1600 XFlow. And does it differ between the rear shoes and the front pads.It used to be easy when they used rivets!! (The next question will be what to replace them with ) Terry Trying to get out of the garage
JAG
1-2mm front and rear is the recommended point to change over. Drumbrake linings need assessing carefully because they don't wear evenly, the 1-2mm applies at the thinnest point on the most worn shoe. Terry Field
Thanks Justin. I'm surprised, that sounds very thin, and I would probably change them before that for my own peace of mind, but is is useful to know that I still have a fair bit of safe wear left.
