Paul Craddock
HiI'm re-building a '95 SuperSprint I bought in bits and having problems trying to figure out what goes where behind the dash.Firstly, what is this aluminium hoop for? I presume it's a sub-frame to hold the wiring, but where and how does it fix at each end?Secondly, where does the wiper motor fix (and which way round)?A few photos would be really helpful, or if you live local to St Albans, perhaps I could visit and have a look at the way yours is put together. Drumster
When I rebuilt my '93 Supersprint there wasn't anything like that aluminium hoop so not sure it's necessary.....Sorry, can't help with the wiper motor as that was ditched tenty years ago. Jonathan Kay
Have you got the appropriate Assembly Guide and wiring diagrams, and the British "standard" wiring colours? Please let me know if you need copies.Jonathan
Wrightpayne
I made my scuttle removeable with rivnuts on the vertical panel last winter. These pics might help...('98 K series)
Paul Craddock
Hi JonathanThanks I've got most of those bits but would dearly love to buy the appropriately coloured wires so that I can repair/re-make the loom with correct bits of cable. Do you know where I can get these multicoloured wires in one or two meter lengths?Paul
Paul Craddock
HiThe photos are excellent, thanks. Just what I need (for now, but I might need to come back later!!). I do need a wiper motor fixing bracket if anyone's got a spare...... though I can easily make one.
Jonathan Kay
The commonly recommended suppliers of wiring include:https://polevolt.co.uk https://www.carbuilder.com/uk https://www.s-v-c.co.uk https://www.holden.co.ukbut I suspect that "one or two metre lengths" suggests that you've already spotted the problem. How about posting a Wanted message with the colours and lengths that you need? You might get some of them that way.Jonathan
Jonathan Kay
Have you asked Redline if they have that wiper motor bracket?Jonathan
OldAndrewE
One way of getting standard coloured wires is to get a scrap loom from an old british car. See if you can find a friendly breakers yardIf you cannot find the wiper fixing bracket elsewhere this should be the same 37H4836 - Mini wiper motor stainless steel strap with seal (minispares.com)You will also need one of these if you have not got one ALA6642 - Mini wiper motor rubber mounting pad (13h4718) (minispares.com)
Wrightpayne
12voltplanet will supply cable in measured lengths. I've used them lots for wiring changes on my VW transporter.
Wrightpayne
Quick check on ebay and mini wiper brackets are readily available for £12ish incl the rubber lined bracket and the rubber block that goes under the motor.
