KARTMAN
Hi,I am just renewing the fuel tank on a 1997 K series. The electrical connections on the outside of the pump are in a circular compartment. This compartment does not seem to have a cap, but is filled with some kind of non conductive material. Time has taken a toll on this material and it is falling out. Does anyone know what this material is so I can replace it?Many thanksDavid

TomB
It’s an epoxy I believe. When I replaced my pump, I also repaired a spot of damage on the wiring in this area,. I picked out the original brown plastic / resin material with a small flat headed screwdriver, and back filled it with a lump of premixed Araldite. Obviously you don’t want want to do this when the pump / tank is on the car, as it will all run out!
