jlhinte
I can not locally find the NGK B8ECS for my '93 Super Sprint. The NGK UK site does not list a replacement or upgrade for the plug. I was told an equivalent is NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs : BR8EIX. Can this be verified? Thanks, JLjlhinte@gmail.com
Jonathan Kay
Where are you, please? There's a fair bit of discussion in the archives: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:caterhamlotus7.club+B8ECSAlternatives seem to depend on whether yours is running hot or cold.JonathanPS: The B8CS is available from SparkPlugs.co.uk: https://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=B8ECSPPS: Your post includes your email address. rkeywood
The Iridium plugs are a thin wire electrode whilst the 'C' and the 'CS' are low angle ground electrodes. The IX should be OK but they are very expensive (£10 each) compared with the other common options. A BP7ES generally works well on the road and a B8ECS for a higher heat rating on the track. Both are readily available online. The 'P' in the ref is projecting insulation. As said on the other thread the 'R' is with a resistor which presumably isn't wanted if currently using B8ECS.Hope this helps
