GulfSeven
I have the textbook cold start issues with my 420rIs that a specific issue with the 420R, or is it 420s in general or Rs in general?
ScottR400D
I think it's the Duratecs in general. Don't know about the Sigmas. They're not all as bad as it can be but most have slight issues at least. Mine would always start OK but wouldn't idle for a while. Then when it was a little warm it would hunt between 1000/15-1600 rpm.Once hot the hunting would improve to around 900- 1200rpm.
aerobod - near CYYC
Did you use Easimap to look at the hunting, Peter? It should be in tune with the Lambda sensor going from lean to rich and adaptive map values that are fairly high, indicating the base fuel map for the throttle position and injector time values are quite a way off from the necessary values. ScottR400D
No I didn't James. It was always my intention to have RBTBs fitted which I did pretty soon after building the car. I'd have bought the car with them but had a nicer option than the CC offering so they were fitted later. That cured the problem!
