magister
I am refitting the Serra diff back into my 2003 ex Academy car, following a Titan LSD rebuild. Question is about centralising the diff. The build manual suggests that the diff to chassis rail distances should be the same to within 2mm. How critical is this? Thanks for any input!Paul
Wrightpayne
Why would you not follow the build instructions? Presumably you saved / recorded the washer spacers when you took them out?
magister
I attempted to record the washers as they came out, but found an additional one on the floor - not sure which side it came from !
Tazio
And it's so much easier if you can get a friend to help, and yes do get it to the 2mm or less.
magister
OK - many thanks. As it was a bit of a struggle to get the bolts/washers in by myself, I was a bit reluctant to take it all to bits again. However, having just tried it again, it was much easier second time around.
Wrightpayne
I have thought about getting spacers machined to fit my chassis / diff next time its out - then there are only a max of 4 things to find on the garage floor rather than 16+!
magister
I ended up superglueing the washers for the top mount together to make it easier to get them in.
