I have had maybe a dozen enquiries about it. But as yet no one seems to be that interested.

If its not sold by then end of April then I will be keeping it all summer as it might take me a couple of months to find a replacement and by that time most of the summer will have past.

Unfortunately, in reality, it is very, very difficult to sell any 'expensive' car (Caterham or otherwise) privately for cash.

Most people go to a recognised dealer for convenience. They normally have a part-exchange, need finance and/or want the the consumer protection a dealer theoretically has to honour.

Those with cash would either prefer to buy new to their own specific specification, or expect to be acquiring a significant bargain.

You (or anyone in your position) would therefore seem to have five choices:

1. Trade it in for cash (and bite the painful depreciation bullet)

2. Let a recognised dealer sell it on sor (careful who you use!)

3. Advertise it more widely, but set the price at a point where private buyers can't resist it.

4. Prepare to accept a part exchange(this way you could still own a 7)

5. Keep it and enjoy it

Best of luck.
