Beagler
Thinking about it. Its the way to fit the cable. Lowering the diff is not an option.
Alan Reeves
Removing the plate and dropping the diff is not the answer.i cannot remember the process and would need to get into it to try an awaken the grey cells.i do remember big issues as I had a BMW diff and the blooming book was for a Ford and they threaded differentlybut....where are you
Beagler
Thanks AlanBlackburn Lancashire.I have the pop rivets and dont have a problem drilling them out. There is no way of removing the cable without doing it or lowering the diff I dont think. If I did drill out pop rivets I would replace with short self tappers. Area Representative Paul Richards Posted December 28, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 28, 2021 I have never found the need to remove the plate. If you have slackened the cable right off I think you can pull the handbrake lever up to bring the pulley and cable forward. When reassembling make sure you squeeze the clevis to the pulley and put washers on the pin to keep the clevis closed. This will prevent the cable slipping off the pulley and jamming. Incidentally. Has the cable broken? It will be the first I have come across.
Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted December 29, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 29, 2021 With the cable slackened right off access is available without removing the plate.

Beagler
Got it installed. I found that feeding the cable from rear to inside of car o/s then feeding cable inside car n/s to rear worked. Hope this assists anyone else.
ian.pursglove
I had the same question on the white plug when I was building mine; worked out it is suitable for an accessory power outlet, and then had it confirmed by CC (eventually).
