Cycle guard gap

Hi. I think there's been threads on this before but I'm afraid I can't seem to find them?

My arches are due to be tidied up/painted in Feb so in anticipation I thought I'd buy new "race" wing stays as I'd heard they were shorter and moved the arch closer to the tyre.

Upon receiving new "race" stays it appears they are no shorter anywhere vs what I have? So I assume I already have "race" stays or the info I remember ref them being shorter is not correct.

So I'll need to send them back but it leaves me wondering whether others have found there are indeed 2 x different lengths, whether to just to live with the gap, ( not too bad now that taller R888 tyres fitted ), or whether to get the existing stays modded..?

I'll likely just leave them unless theres a quick/easy fix but any feedback welcome..

Cheers, Ed

Hi.

No clue how to upload photos on hear..? Any guidance appreciated..? Its not the biggest gap I've ever seen now that it wears R888's but if it was plug and play with race stays to make gap tighter I'd have gone there.. As it is its poss as good as it gets..? I was just surprised as think I've seen a few cars with a more snug fit..?

"No clue how to upload photos on hear..? Any guidance appreciated..?"

There are three ways of posting images: two by uploading them to this site, and one by linking to them on another site eg Dropbox.

They're all described in the Forum User Guide.

Most Members now use the shortcut upload. That's quick and comparatively easy, but it does limit the resolution of the image. Not usually a problem for photos but can be for screen dumps, images of documents etc.

The other two methods don't have that limitation.

Please let me know if you need any help or want to practise.
