Member Jonathan Kay Posted December 22, 2021 Member Share Posted December 22, 2021 You need to get the handbrake lever roughly vertical. And there might be a screw in each rear lower corner of the cover.JonathanPS: Recent discussion.. : - )

Beagler
Want to replace H/Brake cable. Have managed to lift tunnel cover enough to see the handbrake mech is covered by a pop riveted cover on the tunnel. Do I need to access cable from underneath? Wrightpayne
It should all become accessible once the tunnel cover is off. The riveted plate should not need removing. As Jonathan has mentioned the handbrake cable needs slackening right off so the lever can go almost vertical. I read a long time ago of an owner unpicking one of the seams on the leather gaitor and inserting a zip to enable removal without the need to slacken off the cable.Gear knob also needs to come off.I didnt fit the screws on my tunnel as it is a very tight fit. I have S Type leather seats and these need sliding forward as well to aid removal.

Area Representative Paul Richards Posted December 22, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 22, 2021 You also need to remove the handbrake "grip" to remove the tunnel cover.
