Beagler
Tried the Forum search and comes up with everything but brake pads. What are the best alternative for road use to improve rear caliper braking. Have AP Racing pads installed.
aerobod - near CYYC
Ferodo DS2500 work well on the back with the single caliper combined with the front APs. FCP408H should be the right fitment if you are using the LP507 Delphi pads as stock at the moment (it is for my 2012 R400D). The Ferodos give noticeably extra bite over the stock pads and don't take too much to warm them up, I use them for both road and track.

aerobod - near CYYC
If these are the rear calipers you have on your car:https://caterhamparts.co.uk/calipers-pads-discs/7116-brake-caliper-lh-rear-including-carrier-no-pins.htmlhttps://caterhamparts.co.uk/calipers-pads-discs/7119-brake-caliper-rh-rear-including-carrier-no-pins.htmlThen they take the stock Caterham pads which are either these:https://caterhamparts.co.uk/calipers-pads-discs/668-brake-pad-set-rear-standard-calipers-uprated.htmlor these : https://caterhamparts.co.uk/calipers-pads-discs/593-brake-pad-rear-standard-material-de-dion-cars.htmlThe Ferodo FCP408H pads are a direct replacement with a higher friction and temperature compound:https://www.burtonpower.com/ds2500-pads-r-all-sier-sapph-inc-cos-fer408h.htmlhttps://www.demon-tweeks.com/ferodo-ds2500-brake-pads-ferfcp408h/

Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted December 23, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 23, 2021 During my Diff refurb I fitted Mintex Racing MDB1287 rear pads. A quantum leap on the standard Delphi LP507 as supplied by CC.They appear to have improved the balance of the braking & stopping power. I have big brakes on the front with Mintex 1144 pads. John Vine
Re #6:I'm contemplating going down the same route as Geoff. When I looked up these pads on Demon Tweeks, I got an error message (same for both pads): What's going on there?JV

StevehS3
Thank you Jonathan. I have used them but I wouldn't fit them again when the statement is explicit.
Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted December 29, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted December 29, 2021 StevehS3 #9 - 'Dilemma' - what dilemma ? Nudge, nudge. I am not sure what the advisory is implying apart from the pad facing is very high friction, beneficial for circuit or racing use. Then the pads should be eminently suitable for fast road use in a half ton vehicle ?To get the brake balance correct I was willing to take the gamble. So would the MoT Inspector notice this discrepancy - I doubt it unless he is a brake pad aficionado. The only instance that the advisory may bear any credibility is when the car is inspected after a road accident even then that may be only a faint possibility.JV - I sourced my rear pads from Chris at Redline.
