pkw2704
So fitting the SLR system and nearly there.my question is how many fastening points do we have on our systems,I have the one at the back arch/body area, but my old silencer had one near the front ,is this needed? is the manifold to head and bolts through the collector lugs and the rear mount enough? and it wont be too ridged? Wrightpayne
My original single pipe cat system had fixings front and rear. The 4-2-1 just has the rear fixing and been fine for 10+ years. I check every year and c hange the mini bobbin periodically.Ian
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 27, 2021 Leadership Team Share Posted November 27, 2021 The SLR system only uses the rear silencer fixing, the rest of the system hangs on the manifold studs. Stu.
SM25T
Without a centre fixing, the whole system is suspended from head and rear bobbin. I had the inlet pipe tear out of the front of the silencer on mine. On new system I found and used the front mounting bush in the chassis and the system is properly supported.
