Dave connors
I've just stripped down my exhaust from an ex sigmax racer but not sure if the perforated tube should be attached to the end piece or not or is it held central by the filling
Jonathan Kay
Does this help:https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgrzhasr7ul931f/Repack%20Instructions.pdf?dl=0Jonathan
Dave connors
It's not quite the same exhaust mine looks like a standard exhaust that's been made re packable as the ends fit over the middle can I could make it work if I sleeve the ends of the perforated tube
Dave connors
Which acousta-fil is the best to use the S2 goes up to 850 degrees
paul_w
based on my experience 1) it is worth sleeving the perforated tube, as I didn't do it and I think it would better support the end cap joint if there was a short sleeve locating it rather than it simply butting up to the end cap and 2) if like me you get stainless rivets then you need a serious pop riveter not the usual type of hand held one as it won't be up to the task even in the unlikely event that you have hands like Geoff Capes... Support Team andy_harries Posted November 21, 2021 Support Team Share Posted November 21, 2021 This thread is timely for me as I caught the end of my exhaust on a curb at donington yesterday and all the packing came out (sorry for the red flag if you were there). Which filing do you choose?
SM25T
That sounds drastic .... can't picture how that happens unless the end cap comes off. Acoustafil mat is nice to use.
Support Team andy_harries Posted November 21, 2021 Support Team Share Posted November 21, 2021 Yes, end cap came off when i caught it on the extra large curb bits on the final chicane, which meant it all flew out on the start/ finish straight!
