Nigel B
I phoned Caterham when I was struggling to find this information when I had a VX Classic. Simon Lambert advised me to set the car up with the front wheels parallel. No toe in or out. It seemed to do the trick & the car handled nicely as a result. Ivan Wroe
Many thanks, very useful, handling has gone off since I took off the 13" ZZS tyres and fitted the 'standard' 185/70/13 Uniroyal RainExpert3. Had to change them, not enough ground clearance under the sump for everyday driving. Not sure if the re track will help the high speed straight stability, the tracking is currently set to 0-0. Nigel B
If you’re looking for improved stability, then a little toe in would probably help. I’d imagine the Uniroyals would be a better match for a Classic than the ZZS, in terms of grip level & profile. I hope you manage to get it sorted. Ivan Wroe
Yep..my conclusion is to go to 'toe in'..back to the garage as soon as the weather breaks!
Area Representative jonsymons Posted October 20, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted October 20, 2021 I run the Uniroyals and once I had my tracking sorted in line with the AG (ie toe in) was very content with the handling (road use only mind you). Even though you can only really adjust the toe in/out on my car with the old style top links/live axle, I did get mine checked for four wheel alignment too to make sure everything was pointing in the right direction...
