alcal
Does anyone have any experience of having one of these made up? Unfortunately Oxted are currently not able to modify standard seats.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 17, 2021 Leadership Team Share Posted October 17, 2021 I added some additional lumber support, it's a lot of years ago now but if I recall correctly I released the "cover" at the bottom of the frame then carefully inserted a piece of soft foam to add some shape to the lumbar area. It worked quite well but if I was doing it now I'd investigate one of the inflatable seat pads to add a little adjustability, I think Demon Tweeks sell them.Stu. JonT
I bought a cheap blow up cushion from Amazon (like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/KIPETTO-Inflatable-Support-Compressible-Comfortable/dp/B088WXWZPJ/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=inflatable+cushion+lumbar&qid=1634564882&qsid=260-5005437-7046446&sr=8-7&sres=B07QGJ3M25%2CB08C7365Z7%2CB088WXWZPJ%2CB09FFZWTD5%2CB08CDCJNFJ%2CB006SMX5NS%2CB08613NB63%2CB003FFQOHU%2CB07CTT6FS1%2CB00KTIHGKU%2CB07L264TFJ%2CB099NBM17N%2CB087M9WL8D%2CB00HANW9FY%2CB08BM7T82Z%2CB097GVVGCS%2CB077N567MC%2CB073XGRR42%2CB07KQ44N44%2CB07V3HZBCG&srpt=BODY_POSITIONER) that you can stuff behind the seat. Stopped the seat back collapsing so much.Got a lot better when I just bought the foam kit from Oxted and a new seat back
timb2117
Not sure if it helps alcal. I just recovered my seats with kit from Oxted I was reasonably comfy in them before but with the new foam and leather in place I now sit higher and the rear back support is way more noticeable, less sitting "in" and more sitting "on"Also even though I think I am a reasonably "feeling" driver I hadn't picked up the breaks in the steel frame which needed welding repairs, altoghether made a great improvement. '05 car with about 45k kms on it.
