kingsea99
Hi allI have a live axle (ital) xflow that has developed a mechanical click when the drivetrain is put under load when the clutch is let out in gear - most noticeably when pulling away. When on the move there is no perceptible noiseWhen driving the sound appears to come from the drivers side rear put upon further inspection with Rob at Ratrace it may be passenger side rear and the sound is traveling.Things i have done/checked:Spanner check of rear axle, suspension and brakesReplaced the rear shocks/springs - a necessary upgrade required anywayChecked the diff for oilChecked the prop UJ's and greasedChecked the wheel bearingsChecked the radius arm bushes - there is no visible movement when the car is held on the brakes and the clutch let outReplaced the centre A arm bushesAny other ideas?Sean
OldAndrewE
Gearbox mount? Something in the exhaust system (e.g. loose mount)? Try removing the tunnel cover and see if the noise comes from the same area. As you say noises travel

kingsea99
Thanks for the replies. I havent got as far as the gearbox mount so will try that at the weekend.Handbrake cable was a possible but have protected/moved it so its not that. Shocks are new, with new bolts and torqued up.The hunt continues.
Wrightpayne
Another thought - do you have an old phone you could use to video under the rear end to see if it picks up something moving?
