K7 VCT Posted September 25, 2021 Share Posted September 25, 2021 The follow up from below, Removed rear wheel, disconnect speed sensor. Replace fuse 7.5amp. All live again , reconnect speed sensor fuse blows. Sensor looks ok, wire doesn't look damaged. Measured the sensor resistance, I have a dead short between all 3 pins. Do I just need a new sensor? Cheers julian Sigma instruments all dead On the fish and chips run today, along the heads of the valley road, the speedo , then a others failed, the fuel gauge was last. No indicators either, but lights and hazards are working. Checked battery terminals and earth I could locate all tight. Fuses all looked ok to. Didn't fancy a mid Wales breakdown so decided to head back to Oxfordshire. All ok ,except all electrical items above still dead, have switched off and on a few times with battery isolation. I need a wiring diagram for a sigma. ti- vct car of 2014, so just before the new dials etc that came in late 2014. Any ideas of common issues? If anyone else has had this. Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 25, 2021 Member Share Posted September 25, 2021 I think that the first part of that is today's update?There is a previous record of a fault in the speedometer circuit taking down other functions. But IIRC it was in the wiring rather than the sensor.Did I include the Workshop Notices on the speedometer circuit wiring with the other diagrams? Wrightpayne Posted September 26, 2021 Share Posted September 26, 2021 I've taken a few econoseal plugs apart - there is usually a plastic retainer to come out then you can get at the connectors.
