Yellowperil98
Hi....Is there a Panhard rod on a live axle Classic SE? I don't remember seeing it.....if not where are the panhard bushes. Does the A frame not perform the same function as a panhard rod? It's all a learning curve presently.......thanks.....

Yellowperil98
Thanks, I have one but not here. The guy who helps me with keeping my car up together because he is far more clever than me has told me the panhard bushes are worn. I recently managed to change the A frame bushes myself (that is about the limit of my skill set under a car) but cannot quite understand what or where the other bushes are under there....and I don't remember seeing a panhard rod in the assembly guide when I have read it and referred to it for help with the A frame! Tazio
I suspect he means the radius arms bushes....
Wrightpayne
The A frame is effectively a panhard rod (limiting left/right movement)and lower locating link (stopping axle rotation).
Yellowperil98
Mystery solved, this is the arm in question with worn bushes. In the meantime new bearings etc for the half shafts have cured the loud clonk at the back end so it no longer sounds like a wheel is about to fall off in a quick and tight corner :)
Tazio
Just for info, that's the radius arm.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 20, 2021 Member Share Posted August 20, 2021 Thanks for the answer. Sounds like progress. What's showing between the radius arm mounting and the spring/ damper mounting? Is it a crack?Jonathan
