not a Postman Pat
... adding childish comments to almost every grown-up thread? For example, today we have already had threads about: - front or rear (engines) [chitchat] - crying out for a double entendre or two; and - Dicky Immobiliser [tech talk]. I'm sure that he was a cricket umpire, but the grown-ups just don't seem to have spotted it. I'm finding it very hard not to pitch in to every discussion, but have the feeling that I won't always be welcome. So how do I rein those urges in? Violet Elizabeth
It means "Unfunny Tosser" coined I believe by "my mate" Jules. The other camp are GOG's (Grumpy Old Gits). We were being a bit naughty at the time, hijacking a few threads with cucumber talk. Hijacking TechTalk, even with the gag of the century, is a no-no though. not a Postman Pat
half right, in that case - Useless was my guess. As for hijacking Tech Talk, oops! Given the encouragement of fellow bikeshedders, I'm afraid it's now too late! Is an apology in order? Violet Elizabeth
Think you will get away with it The GOG's are in quite a good mood at the moment it seems. Usually it kicks off in winter when there is no blatting to be done, but I think the nice weather is making everyone happy.

not a Postman Pat
Thank God, my flippant hijack of Dicky Immobilser in TechTalk found the grown-ups in tolerant mood, so I live to play another day 😬 Pat and his not quite black and white cat
