Just replaced my A021's with Nankang NS-2R 185/60R14 and they are much quieter on the road. They have a B wet weather rating which is why I bought them. The 888' have an E wet weather rating.

I've now done about 150 road miles on NS2Rs (14") and am very impressed. Especially so with wet weather performance after 20 mile drive to Brands Hatch yesterday morning. Conditions started as "take the tintop" weather and after 10 miles or so encountered the aftermath of a cloudburst with road completely awash in several places. No loss of grip or twitchiness even in serious standing water.

In both wet and dry conditions I am driving with same confidence as I had in AO21s. I'd been using them for 25+ years including race use in early days.

Very happy with my NS-2R having  run AO 21's for twenty years. Think I made the right choice, though I think they will wear quickly if one does a lot of miles.

From reading various threads the current favourites are Uniroyal Rain Experts for touring / wet conditions and Toyo R888s for more spirited driving / track days but are OK in the wet if you drive carefully.

I run 888s in 13" and in the dry they grip very well. They are good in the wet but break traction if accelerate hard. (Most tyres will on a seven TBH)
