Blackmamba
HiMy car is fitted with the stack instrument panel and I am getting the message that the internal battery is low. It was fine in Dec when I last drove the car but has just come on.I know these can be sent back to Stack for servicing but can anyone tell me how to get it out? I had a quick look online and in the instructions but couldn't find any instructions and don't want to break anything. Thanks

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted February 21, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted February 21, 2021 Stack servicing was covered in LowFlying. I'm not sure ifit was 2019 or 2020. I'll look it up an send a message via the London Middlesex WhatsApp group.
rj
Of course I could have sent this in a PM. However, I find it more constructive to put it in public: As you can see in this picture there are two small brackets each held by two locknuts. If my memory serves me correctly, those are M3 which means you need a 5.5mm socket to undo them. - it's been 10+ years since I've had the scuttle off (!) Remove the brackets and pull out the dash. Very very easy.

Blackmamba
That's very helpful, thank you all. Doesn't look too bad as you say but now I have to work out how to get the scuttle panel off (bear in mind this is my first 7, I am not that hands on but trying to learn!).Any tips on taking the scuttle off? Paul Gibb
The scuttle is held on by 4 bolts into two rails either side and is easy to remove. 213 Performance will service the Stack for you.

Wrightpayne
There are two bolts that hold the steering column and trap the vertical part of the scuttle that need removing. Also, two poppers on the top, cockpit side of the windscreen, hopefully on self tappers!
rj
You don't have to take off the scuttle to remove the dash. It was just for showing what to expect. It's very very easy and can be done blindfolded.

Wrightpayne
If using an iphone, hold it horizontally, button on the right to take the picture then they usually upload in the correct orientation.

Blackmamba
The upside down view is actually quite helpful as that is how it looked when I put my head under the dash and looked up! Seems straightforward enough to access the bolts but does look a snug fit against the scuttle. Will report back. Thanks all for the help.
