FIA Rollover Bar - S3 DeDion Imperial / Metric Differences

I'm seeking collective knowledge / experience on the following:

I've been told that it's possible to fit a post 1990 DeDion S3 metric FIA rollover bar to a post 1990 DeDion S3 Imperial car. The only difference is in the boss at the base of the main roll hoop, a metric bar has a metric fixing AND is less deep because the recess in the chassis is less deep to allow space for a standard fixing that clears the top mount of the damper. The two bars that attach to the fixings in the boot are in the same position as the imperial car but the ID of the fixing will be to suit a metric fixing. If this is correct, them washer shim(s) under the rollbar boss and a change of fasteners should allow me to fit a metric bar to my imperial chassis.

This all sounds logical, can anyone confirm this?

Many thanks for the link Ian which confirms what the very knowledgeable chap in Caterham parts told me, I always like to get a few data points in that absence of hard evidence! I can now widen my search for a track day roll bar.
