patricklaw7
Dear all,First wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.I am trying to revive an old live axle project sitting in the back of my shed for more than a few years. I notice the differential pinion is wet and leaks a little. I think I need to replace the seal behind that.I tried locating that part from Caterham parts website but they don't have it available. Could someone tell me where I can find it? How could I tell whether mine is an Ital or Marina axle? I saw some on eBay but I need to know which axle I have. Thanks for your help.Regards,Patrick
elie boone
Give Phil At Road&Race a call https://www.rrtransmissions.com/ he sure can help you. BTW i don't think there is a visual difference or any difference between an Ital and a 1.8ltr Marina axle.

Ed White
Any of the diff specialists, or Burton. Possibly even ebay; i've bought a couple of old clutch release bearings. You'll need a new pre load crush washer to so you can rest the backlash when you reassemble. Allsorts of theories on this, but I've built many a diff for rally cars, and just torqued up the big pinion nut to the figure in the manual and they were fine. Cheers, Ed
elie boone
The Ital / Marina axle was designed to use a solid spacer not a crushable one.
