Is it worth ordering the recommended from Caterham or will Halfauds special do the trick? Same question with respect to engine coolant - I know the amount this time but the source? Bare Posted March 22, 2003 Share Posted March 22, 2003 Generic DOT 4 brake fluid is certainly "good enough" ;-) As for coolants.. like Oil this can be a religious topic.. Personally I prefer the HONDA brand, it has been proven to me to be superior even to Mercedes coolant.. in an all Alloy engine... certainly can't cost more than buying coolant from Caterham ;-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Colin Grundy Posted March 23, 2003 Share Posted March 23, 2003 Dave, suggest you use Halfords dot 5.1 (non synthetic). You will probably need 2 bottles. Antifreeze is CommaXstream pre mixed (red in colour) either through Caterham or a local Comma agents. Ring Comma and they will tell you the nearest distribtor in your area.
