TomBerlin
Will be in England April 11-17. Reservoir on my master is cracked and the best I can do here is a new master for $250. It's the angled top variety. Any help? Thanks Tom
I reply to every thread
If it's the same as my standard de-dion cylinder (94) you can have that as I'm changing to the AP uprated cylinder.
Morls
Sadly, I dont think they're interchangeable, although a measurement will prove. A later MC (off a car with a pedal 'box' is longer than an early one off a car with a pedal bracket. If fitted to the bracket it fouls the clamp on the steering column. This is based on me trying to fit a later MC to my older car. I've made some plates to lift the MC by .5" which I'm hoping will work as the older MC is now obsolete ☹️ Mark My Caterham Silver Jubilee No. 7 is here with Mavis, under 'Mark's Cars'. TomBerlin
Mark, Will you keep me up to date on your project? Where did you source the later M/C? I hate to go through this only needing the reservoir. Life, I guess. Tom
STEVE GILBERT
For old parts like this you want Past Part in Bury St Edmonds, they always came through with old Lucas/Girling type stuff for me as they buy up all old stock from the UK Motor Factors Contact Here http://www.pastparts.com/cases.htm Hope that helps Steve See My Zetec Power 7(soon to be sold :0( ) Here

Morls
Tom, I got the later MC from a wanted ad here, and decided to make some little folded steel plates which lift it slightly (the bolts are now on top of the original holes by about 1/2 inch. In hindsight I think searching high and low for either a new-old stock 83 MC or a rebuild kit would be the best option. Redline components 01883 346515 May well be worth trying, even if they cannot obtain one they may know interchangeability. Good Luck Mark Mark My Caterham Silver Jubilee No. 7 is here with Mavis, under 'Mark's Cars'.
