jackb_ms
Hello AllI would like to refurbish the AP big brake calliper fitted to my car.Is it an easy DIY job or is it better to send them back to AP for refurbishment?Jack
Wrightpayne
Jack,If you decide to pay to have them done there are specialists around. I've picked this up in threads on the Porsche forums as many models use ally callipers.Ian

Tazio
For the AP ones, it maybe worth contacting BG Developments at Bromsgrove too.
TomB
AP? I had my AP brake master cylinder checked and overhauled by them a few years ago. I went via the / a distributor in Rochdale called Questmead. https://www.questmead.co.uk/Information/About-Us
alan c
I sent mine back to AP, I think you have to go via a dealer. I used raceparts in Wallingford.
adz
Is it easy DIY - I'd say yes having done mine earlier this year after one started leaking.Seal kit is ~£20 and includes new bleed screws. Dont need any special tools- just try and pump the pistons as far out as you can ( not all the way out- just enough to get a decent grip on to pull the pistons out - they need a good tug )whilst brakes are still attached to car- or use an air compressor.
