SM25T
Wheel bearing, CV joint in drive shaft, tyre fouling something, bolt loose on diff or suspension. You need to look harder.
Wrightpayne
What have you checked so far?
MADMALC
Is the noise from the front or rear? Left or right?
John Wragg
Sounds like from front left. My suspicion was wheel bearing. As the car has been garage serviced for quite some time (non Caterham) I suspect they have never done a bearing grease repack! Nothing obvious seen anywhere. Unfortunately I'm no longer fit enough to crawl around under the car so I'll pass on your suggestions to my mechanic. Thanks for your suggestions. MADMALC
The most obvious cause will be the tyre rubbing on something. I am confident your mechanic will have no problem sorting it for you.
Tom_Arundel
Did you have a passenger....they sometimes make grinding noises....sorry!
Wrightpayne
The front suspension, whilst very effective, is an old basic design - there are not that many moving parts.
