Sooty Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 Although I've had my Caterham for 18 years I'm just about to take the engine out for the first time. Got all the ancillaries off so now only held by mountings and bellhousingAre there any tips for getting the lump out without removing the gearbox (Type2 4speed). elie boone Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 To take the engine ( i always do engine & gearbox ) use the most forward bolt on the intake manifold to attach a hook and on the other side use the most rear ward bolt on the exhaust manifold to attach a hook connect with a chain to lift the engine out.
