Area Representative admaraujo Posted July 18, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted July 18, 2020 OK! Some help needed for a K-series R500 owner.Symptoms: - Since the owner bought the R500, while pressing on, the car would have a slight hiccup at 7000 RPM, when this happened, the owner would ease off the throttle a bit and, pressed on again and the engine would then go to the 8500/8600 RPM with "no problem" (given we are just talking about a 1500 RPM difference).- In the last outings, the car started to hiccup more severely and at 5000 RPM.- The owner asked for help, though he suspects a faulty MBE ECU. Can the POBC share their thoughts on here?

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted July 21, 2020 Leadership Team Share Posted July 21, 2020 Andre, the description of the fault may suggest a faulty spark plug (cracked insulator?), coil or maybe something arching badly?Stu.
Wrightpayne
From an R500 owning friend...though probably applicable to any K series...Vibration is an issue, coil packs on engine? Check all connections to engine sensors, including manually pushing on female connectors in plugs. I had a temp spade connection that would slide back up inside the plastic housing so not properly connected.
