YoSDeNS AR
Yes, I know, a clock... There was a clock in the car when I bought it, carving a hole in the carbon dash. That clock failed, so I replaced it as part of my other works on the car. I thought I'd used the same connections, but clearly not. The new clock has become a gauge showing how long my left indicator has been on. So it flashes when I indicate left, but is useless as a touring aid. Where have others got their clocks wired to? Any hints or tips on this...

Area Representative Kingsley Young Posted May 11, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted May 11, 2020 PhilYou could probably wire directly to the battery with an in line fuse !
YoSDeNS AR
That's my plan B. Thanks for the in-line fuse reminder, I'd forgotten that as a sensible precaution.
Area Representative Kingsley Young Posted May 11, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted May 11, 2020 I used this formula for wiring in a power socket, and it can be all done neatly.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted May 11, 2020 Leadership Team Share Posted May 11, 2020 Phil, as a norm the most common colour coding behind the dash is: Brown - permanent live Green - ignition switched live Black - earth (negative) Red/White - live to gauge illumination Additional cable colours are specific to their use, sensors etc. Taking your feed from any brown and using a black as the earth should work fine, but add an inline fuse.Stu.
